    Is this a scar or genetic?
    This is a Mojave I recently acquired. Kind of dirty-looking in my opinion. But I'm wondering, is this an injury that occurred to this animal's cloaca or could it be genetic? I'm not really pushing up on it. I've had it almost 2 weeks and it's eaten twice already and has defecated once. It seems healthy.

    Looks like a normal vent to me. It's the back end of a snake...not always spit spot clean. ;)

    I think it's just hard to see in the image. Those are the insides you're seeing and they don't seem to be completely covered. I can't see the insides on any of my other snakes.

    Completely normal from that posture to see a bit of tissue. Let the tail straighten out and the cloacal plate will cover it once again.

    Looks like a normal vent and if it's deficated it seems to be working
