    Which option is best
I've read both options and pros and cons of each but which is the better option to keep my temps high for the basking area in my tanks; uth with thermostat or a strong enough lamp and bulb to reach temp?

I have a 20 gal year old python tank and a 40 gal corn snake tank. I'm finding it hard to come by answers every time I try this forum..

Either cld work. However, U wld wnt a reostat for the lamp. And the lamp may not be a good idea, bc when it goes off, there is no heat source, and I wld be hesitant to have a light on all the time... taking into account..this is a nocturnal species (bp).. instead of bulb... try heat emitter w an appropriate ceramic housing lamp for the heat emitter and a thermostat or reostat..I dnt reccomend using heat emitters w regular lamps bc of the plastic on them.

Bottom line is.. U need to choose what method you want to work with and go with it. You know what your budget is..we do not.
