AP T8 Sealant dry time?

I put my AP T8 enclosure together and used the sealant as directed. The sealant gives off some strong fumes when applied so it's out in the garage. How long do I need to wait for it to dry before I move my BP in? The tube says it completely cures in 1-2 weeks but the instructions that came from AP say 2-7 days. So it's a bit confusing.

It will vary depending upon how thick the sealant was applied.

I usually go 2-3 days and have a fan pointing at the inside to speed up drying time. Some folks wait longer, may or may not use a fan.

At the two day mark I touch the seals to see how tacky they are and go from there.

I usually give it a week to dry.

I wait a couple days. When the odor is gone and it feels dry to the touch I'll put my snakes in.

My advice though is do a REALLY good job sealing it the first time so you dont have to redo it in a year or so lol. I'm going to have to reseal my T10s as soon as i get the gang into the T25s. Then after i reseal the T10s, i can put the gang from the T8s into the T10s. Luckily i sealed the T8s really well and clean so i wont have to mess with those again.

I finally got my t10 on friday and have it sealed, that stuff stinks and is a sticky mess. But I think I did a better job this time then with the first t10. I waited a week last time for it to cure. This time I am going to switch out my boa to the new cage and reseal the other one because I did such a horrible job the first time.By the third one I should be a pro.

We are getting pretty far off topic lol. Dry time depends on the humidity more than anything. It rained for several days when I put together my first cage, so it took just over a week. It was dry and summer for the second, so took about 5 days. I felt for tackiness and leaned in close to see if I could smell fumes before putting snakes in either.

I can tell because it had a few spots were the sealant appeared thin and didnt quite cover the crack as well as it probably should. But being in a hurry I used it anyway. I dont have any leaks so far but I want to reseal it anyway since Its convenient to do it now.

I only wait 24 hrs. I put a RHP on and the smell & dry time is all good by the next night. Your not suppose to glob the Silicone on anyway so I've never had a problem with extended dry time.
