Hello, I am in 4-H (Horse Project) and we are required to present at least at county level. I have the opportunity to inform my fellow club members about the wonders of Boa Constrictors. I'm wondering what all I should cover? Any tips or groupings are appreciated. So far I have, not in order:

    • Scientific Group/Name
    • Size and longevity
    • Regions found
    • Habitat requirements
    • Temperament
    • Localities/Morphs
    • Clutch/litter Size

When I do presentations at the local schools I bring in a list of myths (e.g. your snake is sizing you up to eat you) and debunk them.

Maybe touch on the feeding / drinking requirements and schedule plus what they'd eat in the wild and how they'd catch it ... also mention that they're climbers and something on the shedding cycle .

You're welcome to print off or use pics of my 7' male Snow Boa for a PowerPoint - he's about 7 years old ..

    PS
I work in a high school and I'd guess about once a month someone will utter that immortal nonsense in the staff room - about the snake sizing up its owner ..

    Too late to edit ..

Maybe explain about that weird looking breathing tube that's visible when they're swallowing a rodent ...

Thanks .. Many LOVE it but some HATE it ..

Some dislike it simply due to it being a morph others because it's a hybrid ( King X Milk ) ..

    PS

Apologies for derailing the thread , guys !
