Normals are good looking too!!!

Seems like everybody only likes the morphs anymore! Even the stupid pet store in town refuses to buy them. What's the consensus on here? Are normals still good looking to you guys? They're my favorite anyway.

I have 6 normals... several impulse buys, because they are so pretty and have excellent personalities. Some of the morphs seem to have less "pet personality" if you know what I mean. I do have several morphs, but there's just something about a normal. :gj:

All my ball pythons have been normals. I wouldn't turn down a morph, but I wouldn't go out of my way to get one either.

That's just human nature, everyone wants the brightest, pretties, etc., no use getting mad over it though. Plently of people still love normals, including myself.

It doesn't make me mad, just curious about other people's thoughts on it.

From a monetary standpoint for a breeder, a normal is more money to care for than it will make selling it. They are essentially the extra snakes of minimal value.

From a new owner's viewpoint, they're cheap, which is a great introduction to ball python ownership. However, with "cheap" comes this idea of "disposable", which means a lot may end up failing in captivity due to failure to meet the requirements of the snake.

From my own viewpoint, they're enjoyable and can be very attractive snakes. Love the look, and for breeding they are great for proving things out.

I love normals. I love the variety of pattern, colour etc. Yes I like morphs too but would never notnhave normals xx

I've always said that if "normals" didn't actually exist and a breeder managed to create a beautiful "black and gold" morph ...the snake world would go crazy :)
