Rack question

Hi guys. I currently have a 1 year old champagne morph ball python. I plan on adding a blood python and hog island boa to my collection at some point. I was looking at racks and saw a deal on a 3 tub rack that uses Iris® CB-70 model tubs. I know that is plenty big for the ball python and hog island boa but I was wondering if that would be big enough for an adult blood python?

No it's not

A lot of people keep adult Bloods in CB 70/41 qt. tubs, but I feel that ultimately, they should have 4' x 2' x 2' enclosures as full grown adults. A CB 70 would probably be alright up to around 2 1/2 - 3 years... Also, Bloods, Balls and Boas all have different temperature and humidity needs. Ball and Boa needs are close enough that you can get away with having them in the same rack/on the same thermostat if you keep the temperatures at 90 degrees on the hot side. But Bloods need to be a lot cooler (82 - 85 degrees on the hot side) and need a lot more humidity...

The humidity could be addressed with a different bedding. The heat could not and would require a separate thermostat.

As for the space requirements, it looks like a roughly 4x2 footprint is suggested, I'm also seeing heights of about 1'. This would require a totally different setup than the cb-70 tubs allow.

Thanks guys I thought it might be a bit too small but figured I'd ask. Looks like I'll need to pick a different species. Any suggestions?

Anything larger than an adult Ball Python will need to be in something larger than a CB 70/41 qt. If that is all the larger you want to go with enclosures then maybe Ball Pythons are perfect for you or perhaps Corn Snakes or Kingsnakes. Blood Boas are a gorgeous smaller species of Boa and would be fine in CB 70's as adults as well.

I've been keeping my young short tail in a rack with my ball pythons. But I have a large tub blocking off the 90* hotspot. And the rest of the tub ranges from 79-82*. So the shrunk tub works fine while they're still small. My girl is about 9 months old and is still works for now. Though she will go through spells of killing without eating every couple months. Once she gets a bit larger she is going to get her own tank built.
