    Feeding during shed?
My adolescent BP is going through her first shed with me, she's at the stage after opaque eyes; they've cleared up, and from what I've learned it shouldn't be too much longer until she's shed!

However I'm curious if I could feed her in this stage? She's beeen a good feeder so far, and I'm not keen on feeding her until she's done, I'm simply curious :D

    I avoid feeding during shed.

The likelihood of refusal is higher.
The likelihood of difficult shedding is higher.
The likelihood of it stressing the snake is higher.

So the risks outway the benefits essentially?

Personal choice/experience, only. I believe opinion is what you will be getting here.

I feed during shed because mine always is happy to eat then too. I do try not to feed between the eyes clearing up and the actual shed just in case but have done so once. If you're feeding f/t, feeding them in shed or not feeding them shouldn't really be a problem either way. Keeper's choice.

I have some that will eat and others that do nothing but hiss when in shed.
It all depends on the snake.
My female Pastave might actually be a boa....... never ever turned down a meal and eats anything I offer. :rolleye2:

I personally don't feed during shed. They don't miss one feeding and never refuse when I offer after they shed, either later that night or the next day depending on when they shed, my schedule, etc...

    I believe it's really a preference thing.
