Length between pairing

How long do you give your beeps between pairing and laying eggs? Mine just laid in April, and I would like to breed them come fall but I want to make sure they have enough time to recover. What are your suggestions?

Wait until she's gained back all of her prelay weight and then a couple hundred grams more. Give a full year off after laying 2 years in a row.

I usually wait 6 months after egg laying, the female must also be back to original weight plus some more before being considered to be paired again.

Yeah, I do 6 months from lay date as long as everything else is good.
