Ack tails

So I found his 2nd shed and found a dark part at the end of the shed (where the tail would be.) I picked it up and tried to pick it out of the shed to get a better look at it but ultimately it was too small and I ended up dropping it into the carpet somewhere before I got a better look at it...

It almost looks like he shed off/dropped the very tip of his tail.

There's no blood, and he's skiddish and active as always so I don't know. It's a VERY small bit, no bigger than a millimeter at most.

I picked him up to give him a look over while my partner cleaned out the tank for good measure. And it felt like his bones were creaky?? He's not even 2 months old (I think. I've lost track off the top of my head) so I find this odd...

I haven't handled him(or her) regularly at all yet, so he was panicking, so perhaps he felt "creaky" because of that. I don't even know.

He looks good in the photo. Can you get a closeup of his tail tip for me? Other than the tail tip, was it a clean shed? What kind of bedding is he on? What is your humidity?

He shed off his head cleanly, but the rest of it seemed to be in pieces. He's on paper towel bedding (for extra clean environment and monitoring) and the humidity is at "50%" I'll see if he will let me hold him.

His tail tip looks fine to me. It's very possible he might have retained a few layers of shed on his tail tip that finally came off. I've had that happen with one of my corn noodles. It would have felt hard and dry, and looked dark because of the multiple layers.
Shedding in strips is a strong indicator of humidity that is too low. I keep my corns on Aspen, so I give them a humid hide (using damp sphagnum moss inside of a hide, box, or Tupperware container) as soon as they go blue, and leave it until the shed is complete. This works really well and lets the snake decide how much time to spend in there. My corns especially need it in winter, when I maintain an ambient 77* viv room temp by turning up the electric heat.
