I get most of my products off of Amazon. The prices are good and, if you get Amazon Prime, you get 2-day shipping for free.

Branches and bark pieces from the local woods , fake foliage and vines from any poundshop / dollar shop .
Everything else I get second hand in reptile classifieds ..

Is it safe to get fake foliage that's not specifically made for reptile enclosures? I want the cheapest alternative but I'm worried about potentially harming my snakes.

You just need to be careful which ones you use. Some have wire running through them to give them stability, and sometimes this can have some sharp edges.

I bought mine from Dr Foster and Smith. You can even use fake "aquarium plants" for reptile decor.

I pick up fake plants from Dollar Stores, Big Lots and sometimes Michaels craft stores when they have sales. Some tips - Make sure there are no exposed wires. Make sure to cut open any plastic rings/circles on the vine, assuming it doesn't have a wire running through the middle (snakes can get stuck in them). Avoid the cloth flowers, get plastic. The cloth/soft style will become soiled and then you have to cut off what is messed up. The full plastic ones can simply be washed off.

Also, a note on picking up wood from open spaces, make sure it is legal (some places at least here in CA, it's illegal to remove wood from the beaches and such). Make sure to treat any wood, either baking or bleaching (or both). I usually buy grapewood vines from local reptile shows as it's cheaper than ordering from online sources.
