When I got him they told me he was a butterball. I'm new to the snake world so wanted to ask you guys. Didn't plan on getting him but when I walked past his cage at the store he perked up and slithered to me. Lady said she never seen him do that before so I knew I had to get him. He's super chill loves to handled. He loves to lay in lap under my tail with his head poking out. Hasn't tried to strike or anything yet(knock on wood) since I've had him. Really active not to skidish. Like I said I'm new to the snake world so any tips would be nice. I'm going to store tomorrow to get some things for his cage any recommendations?

Depends on what you have already. If you can make a quick list of what you have, we can suggest what else you might want to get.

That would be a normal ball python. There is no butter in there. I would contact the seller for false advertising.
Pet store pricing does have a mark up but in our world I would hope you didn't pay more than $40 or $50.

Have a 10 gallon tank, heating pad, heating lamp, bowl big enough for him to soak in, aspen bedding and a little hut thing.

It's good to have a hide on the cool side and the hot side, and you'll want to make sure you regulate the heating pad with either a thermostat or a dimmer of some sort. A thermostat would be preferred though. You don't really need a lamp and heat pad. Do you have a thermometer and hygrometer to measure the temps on both sides and the humidity? In a glass tank with aspen you may have trouble keeping a good humidity, but there are tons of way you can set it up. A heat lamp especially will dry out the air.
