I just got my first Red tail that is about 4 weeks old. The lady at the pet store has been force feeding the poor little guy since she got him (3 weeks).
Yesterday when I fed my ball I tried putting the mouse in with her. She showed no interest whats so ever (I'm positive it was too big) so that mouse went to the ball (who has no problem eating anything you throw at her).
Today I picked up a live fuzzy. I moved the Red tail into another box and threw the fuzzy in. She showed no interest whats so-ever. She ever ran into it while she was moving around. A few times she went an sniffed it and moved the other way. Then one time while she was passing by it (about 20 minutes later) all of sudden WHAM. When she first coiled around it she looked like she was just holding it. Then when the fuzzy kicked a little bit and then then she really hammered the fuzzy.
Sadly I didn't have my camera when it all started but I got it for the end.
