Changing Hide Preference

Hello!
I used to have small identical hides on the cold side and the hot side. And my BP would always stay inside the cold hide.
But recently he got larger and I had to change his hides. Again, both are identical but it is different from the small hides I used previously.
Now, he's always in the hot hide and he doesn't go to the cold side anymore.
Is this normal?

Mine also tends to stick to the hot side, just check temps and make sure nothing is too cold. :)

Weird! Are your new hides positioned the same? Does one have different decor around it than the other? Or is one closer to a corner? More coverage? Higher or deeper substrate?
