Had a great visit to the pet store!
Mike and I snuck off from the various kidlets for a fun hour or two at our favorite local pet store, Fur & Feathers. What a great time!
We both held two beautiful baby albino burmese and I was in heaven! Such pretty babies! We also saw our first Dumeril's boa (hope I have that spelled correctly). A beautiful baby that has already been bought by one of the store employees. He was nice enough to let me hold his lovely snake for a few moments! I'm in love of course. Such a nice tempered and very lovely animal. Of course the lil burms hissed a bit and one tried to tag Mike but they are baby burms so we kind of expected that LOL.
We saw probably the best and most beautiful group of baby corns that had just arrived (we just peeked and didn't touch). I've never seen such amazing colors and patterns and a couple were even new to the employees of Fur & Feather. They'd never seen any like them. One was a gorgeous true deep burgundy with side markings of lighter almost pink/red and perfect spots running down back. A couple more had beautiful stripes and amazing colors. All in great shape too.
Well it was a lovely time and we managed to not buy a thing :O Just great to enjoy handling some beautiful young snakes. Oh and we were thrilled the big columbian boa has been bought as well as a large female burm that was waiting for the right owner (she was not a nice tempered snake but apparently went to people with snake experience). Now if someone would only give a good home to the poor old pine snake that's been there forever.

Cool, it is always fun to check out the (good) pet stores!
What is it with pine snakes? There was one at one of my local shops, and it was there forever before seomhow escaping; one of the emps didn't close the cage right.
Congrats on leaving without buying anything! lol

I just don't know Gin. Maybe beause they aren't all that impressive in color or pattern. I mean he just sort of blends into his substrate but he must be very healthy, he's growing like a bad weed. Unfortunately I don't know whether it's this particular snake or living in a pet store so long or if they aren't a very friendly type snake but we did try to handle him and suffice it to say...he was very unimpressed!

Hmm, the corn you described sounds like an Okeetee. I hate going to the pet store. We have a love hate relationship :)
Re: Had a great visit to the pet store!
Actually I got googling away trying to figure out this one snake's color and pattern and found one almost identical to it called a Lavendar Motley. Funny tho I think the color was more of a burgundy then lavendar but whadda I know from corns LOL.
Just did more googling and can't find that pic again but the it's definitely a Motley just the color for Lavendar is all wrong. Actually I'll be darned if I can find another one the same color. It was burgundy, not red or orange, a true dark burgundy....very very interesting corn. Not an Okeetee tho, they have one of those in the store and it didn't look like that at all.
Wonder if it's still there?
