    The strike comes (hopefully) to an end!
    My 8 year pastel male BP, Geoffrey, took a small rat just now for the first time in just shy of 6 months! I'm sure the expression on my face was priceless haha. Could barely even believe it when he struck and coiled. Took him a minute to show interest but never really backed away so I persisted with the rat zombie dance and he took it. Such a relief even though he's done this every year for the last three. Time to put some weight back on this critter until his next hunger strike around October or November.

    That's excellent .... One of my Royals went 9 months when I was first starting out but she didn't lose any weight so it was never a concern ..

    As of last night he's taken two meals in as many weeks! Such a good feeling after half a year of refusing food

    Congrats! I haven't had an extended hunger strike like that yet. Only a couple weeks here and there. I don't know how guys do it!
