BPs and TVs...

Goblin loves to watch TV. I am not kidding. If we let him roam around the coffee table with the TV on, he always ends up with his head 6-8 inches off the table, pointing toward the set. He will sit motionless for about an hour like this!
No, it isn't any kind of Respiratory infection; he never does this in his cage. But maybe the heat frrom the TV mesmerizes him? It is a projection TV; any ideas?

Ummm geeze Gin my teens swear that Baby the 6 month old ball python watches TV with them (curls on their bare belly but definitely with her head towards the television). I wanted to post the same sorta question, glad you did LOL.

I don't know what attracts Baby to the TV. Whether it has a heat signature or she is tracking movement, who knows. I've had pets that definitely keyed into the TV but they were cats and dogs (we had one German Shepherd that loved shows about wild wolves, he'd howl right along with them, so we taped one for him....it was a hoot!!!).

All I know is there's already 3 TV's in this house so the snakes will just have to watch what is on...I'm not buying them a TV...then they'll want an Xbox and a DVD player......;)

Ball pythons have very poor vision, but they see light and movement very well ... the lights and moving images on a television are certainly an attention getter!

My dog, Loth, loves watching Animal Planet.

My wife always watches Animal Cops, and when they have dogs whining from abuse or injury, Loth puts her nose on the screen and whines back.

One of these days I'll be able to get my BP.
Until then I'll just have to enjoy all the posts on here.

Well the great thing is you will have picked up tons of great advice and already be comfortable with the folks in this forum if you need to ask stuff (don't we all). You'll probably avoid some of the pitfalls many of us faced with so much misinformation in pet stores and such about the proper keeping of these wonderful snakes.

Yeah. I had a BP years ago, but the little lady made me get rid of him when her belly started getting big. :(

I already have the cage and yesterday I picked up an accurite from Wallyworld.

The St. Louis Reptile show is Aug 28th. I'll be there for sure. Hopefully I'll be picking something up there.:D
Is anyone from here going to go? Is there anything I should be cautious of while I'm there (i.e. not so great dealers)?
