Candling eggs

Do you guys candle your eggs?

I candled when laid (9th April )

Couple nights ago I did a quick check of eggs and opened tub for a minute and decided to candle at same time.

I was super amazing to actually see in 2 of the eggs little wiggling worm babies, one of which had its "head" right close to the side of the egg with its eye clearly visible!

This seemed very early in the process of incubation to see this.

Anyone experienced similar xx

Yep they can be seen wiggling surprisingly early. I'll check mine just for a second a few times to see if veins still look good but don't make a habit of bugging them. I'm sure bright light in undeveloped eyes can't be good along with chase of stressing them into getting their cord all twisted.

There's an interesting python embryonic development paper somewhere that showed clear eyespot development by day 10. I believe they were studying afrocks or burms, but it stands to reason.

Question: I briefly candled my eggs after 10 days of incubation and all I saw were the veins. Should I see the embryos by now?

Not necessarily. Depends how it's laying, how strong your light is, light color morphs can be harder to see.. either way, as long as you saw veins I'd leave them alone now besides brief checks maybe once a week. I can check mines temp/humidity without opening the incubator but I'll open the tub once in a while if it seems like it might be collecting condensation that could possibly drip on the eggs and mold.
