How long do you quarantine new snakes for?

Just wondering how many days people quarantine there new snake for. And also i was wondering if i could bring a new snake into my collection after 40 days as he looks very healthy and has never missed a feed and is growing like a weed and shedding and pooing fine and just wanted some opinions on that.

Quarantine isn't just for the actual health of the snake. It's also for mites. Have you been treating both the new snake and the caging? All it takes is one egg... I'd do a solid 90, unless you see evidence of mites. In that case, I'd do 90 after I stopped seeing mites. I really worry about spreading them.

I do 90 days. If there is an issue such as the snake gets sick or has mites, it's 90 days from when the snake was healthy and/or mite free.

If you bring in a second snake the clock starts over at 90 days for both.

Personally all new arrivals are washed, packaging thrown out, and then placed in an enclosure treated with PaM. Then they are kept there as above (90 days mite free and healthy)

PaM is redone every 30 days

90 days minimum and that's if I know the breeder really well.......

I had my boa for over two months before she passed away suddenly from what they think is a virus (histopathology results still pending). She had an RI that was completely cleared for at least a week and a half before she passed. She showed no symptoms of whatever killed her, was given the all clear by a vet, and never had mites. She was still in quarantine and I had no plans to move her anytime soon, so at least my others had as much protection as I could give them. I would keep your snake in quarantine longer.

Edit: yes, the ri would've restarted her quarantine, but until the virus is identified, I don't know if it was a symptom or merely cooccurring. If the latter, it would be possible for the snake to show nothing until dying 2+ months later.
