Dwarf Burms maxing appx 6'?
A few questions for you big python owners. There's someone on FC selling 2016 100% Dwarf burms males for $600. He states they are from WC in 2005 parents that are 6'. Nothing comes from a BOI search on him. Is this possible? Any clue as to temperament? Usually the smaller something goes, the higher strung it gets (think dogs, cats, rabbits). My only experience with bigger snakes is a female Dumerils, a female Cuban, and a male DRMB, all around 7ish feet. I've been drooling over everyone's retics and burms for months now... all thoughts are welcome. What I don't want to do is get someone that gets so big or so aggressive I won't be able to care for/handle him properly forever.
Dwarf Burms maxing appx 6'?
I think that the days of nasty , ill tempered Dwarf Burms have well gone tbh . I have a beaut Dwarf Hypo Burm ( F2 ) and he's about 3 years old and stopped growing at just over 5 ' ( his dad was also 5' and mum only 7' ) . Both were very placid .
He's as soft as any of my Royal pythons with the inquisitiveness and feeding response of a Retic .
What's not to like about that combo !!
I know of a couple of other Dwarf Burms locally and many on another forum and all are puppy tame.
I just think their bad reputation is well out of date going off the blood stock we have over here in the UK anyways . I'll be interested to see what all the US owners are saying ...

Zincubus is the only person I am familiar with that has a Dwarf Burm (not 1/2 Dwarf) that is puppy dog tame and he isn't in the US.
The Dwarf comes from a different place as I'm sure you know than the Burms we know as gentle giants. I too am interested in a Dwarf after my Burm (20 yrs this summer) is no longer with me however not at the cost of temperament. At this point in the USA I do not know anyone with a Dwarf that has the same temperament as a Burm unfortunately, in fact all I've heard of are 5'-7' cage aggressive, nasty Dwarfs with a crazy feed response. Thats fine if you don't handle much I guess but mine was always easily manageable (at least up until 10' ) and loves to hang out wrapped around my speakers and get into everything it can so Im big on all my buddies having a good temperament.
If you find more info please let me know [emoji1360]

The only questionable ones are my two olive babies, and they're works in progress. Any advice on them, other than feeding them every 3 days?
Honestly Ive been lucky, the 2 Burms Ive owned were/are awesome..and as far as the 2 Balls I have the female is a dream temperament and the male is a PITB. He snaps at me when he can and in the first 4 months Ive had him he ate every week and now went off feed for 6 weeks. Im really OCD so I've had to stop myself from looking into why he is who he is and except it. I now handle him only on his good days and leave him alone when he is a prick hahahaha.. As far as feeding he is healthy so I decided not to worry about that either.. He ate finally last week after 6 weeks and now refused again this Wednesday. hahahaha
Ohhh well.. So as far as any advise, id have to say Im learning too and I guess like you said "work in progress" :)
Whats going on with the Olives? [emoji216][emoji216]
