    Heat issues
So i have an UTH and a over head heat lamp and the temps are fine for the most part my issue is that my room either gets to hot or to cold its is difficult to maintain the right temps through out the day. This is my first BP and she seems quite happy and healthy. Ive done alot of research on how to properly set up the tank, im just wondering if anyone could tell me a good way to keep the temps normal throughout the day without have to worry while im at work if its to hot or cold. I have the heat lamp and a red bulb 75 watt on a timer (ive read its not good to keep lights on a timer, not sure if thats correct or not?) Just to try and keep thing even when im gone. Any other advice? Or am i just being a little to paranoid? Thanks

Your UTH should be on a thermostat and either a second for the overhead or a dimmer.

    ^^^ THIS ^^^

Leaving your heat sources unregulated could cause burns on your snake or even worse, could cook the animal.
    Please get a thermostat ASAP!!!

Sorry forgot to mention i have a thermostat its set to 95. Only thing with that is it doesnt really heat much. Only the substrate right above the mat thats why i have the over head lamp

Oh, ok awesome. The UTH won't help the ambient temps, but it's good you have the hot spot regulated. Is the bulb on a dimmer or tstat? That should be regulated as well, that will allow you to maintain a steady temp.

It is going to have to go on a thermostat then. This is the why they exist.

Ok awesome i just got everything switch around to where the heat should be regulated properly. Thanks again. It didnt even cross my mind to use it with the tstat, for some reason i didnt think it would work together..

As far as the room getting too hot the only way to fix that is having a room a/c on which I do and i set it at 82-85 on economy and auto. cool. I have both uth and overhead bulb on thermostat's to keep the snake warm enough.
