Need a little help on new setup
Hey guys sorry about this I know it comes up because I looked through the forums and read am the topics on it but Ian looking in to getting a animal plastics t8 and I've read the topics and what I see that comes up the most is people saying to get rhp and not flex watt. I just want to make sure before I go and order that I understand what I need. Now I live in florida and my house during the day is about 85 to 80 and at night is at 76. Do i need to go with the rhp from what I read is that you can just use them and not heat tape or can I used the head tape and the ambient temperature will be ok? Also I am going to put a divider in as well so I know I would have to put 12inch flex watt in the middle of the t8 or 2 rhp but is there anyway to keep the divider in place in case I get another snake that it won't fall down?
Thanks you guys in advance for any info you can help me with this.

I have several T8s. The divider fits very tight and stays in place. I used two 40 watt rhps when i had mine divided. Once i took out the divider i put one 80 watt rhp in for the whole enclosure. Works great

So you don't need flex watt at all? the rhp will work but what about a cool spot and where would you put the thermostat probe and mount it I saw some hot glue it to the rhp and some to the mid over the t8 on the side but couldn't see how they mounted it and is there a issue where the snake can get to the rhp and get burned?

Sorry to hijack but quick question! When you got your 80 watt RHP how difficult was it to remove your 40 watts and install the 80 watt? did you have to disemble your cage/remove the top?
Re: Need a little help on new setup
I bought little clamps and secured my probe to the back wall hanging down 3/4 the way down. Rhp creates the oerfecr environment. 90 hoit side and 79 cool side
To remove the rhp it only takes 2 screws. Very easy. You dont even need a drill. Just put some pressures on the screw driver and they will go in

Even if it's split and there's 2 rhp? Because the photos I've seen the rhp is in the middle of the cage sorry just want to make sure I get this right and could you send me photos of how the prob looks so I can have a idea also the snake can't get burned by touching it?

You need to place the rhp to one side in order to create hot side cool side gradient. I will take come pics of my probes and cage - will post pics tomorrow

Thank you very much and I was thinking about putting the divider in and having 2 snakes in there
