Basking Baths for Ball Python? Good or Not??

Is a basking bath safe for a ball python? Since I have heard that giving "wet" baths to snakes could be dangerous or perhaps stressful for the snakes, how about when it comes to basking baths. My breeder once posted in his social media account about his Burmese python giving a basking bath where the snake was "getting vitamins" from the sun. I just want to make sure if this is safe for ball pythons since snakes are cold-blooded, etc. Plus, our country is a tropical one so it could help with the right temperatures. Need some advices! Basking bath..hmmm thts a term I have never heard. Interesting.

It sounds as if what you are referring to as a "basking bath" means direct sunlight..outside.

If that is what you are asking.. no, there is no value in it for a ball python. They do not absorb uv to help w calcium digestion/use like another reptiles that require a basking light, such as bearded dragons or igaunas.

Them basking in the sun certainly wont hurt them unless they potentially get too warm.. in tht case, you wouldnt kno bc said snake cannot leave on its own to go back to a cool spot because you have it in the sun.

I've never heard of this either. If ball pythons required sun, they wouldn't be nocturnal and spend the vast majority of their lives hidden in holes, caves and underground. I would think the chance of the animal getting too hot or even getting "sunburn" while "basking" wouldn't be worth the risk.
