Ambient temp in tubs

After reading extensively about rack/tub systems I think I'm ready to make the switch.

look the most attractive to me. :)

The question is how to keep the cool end at 80F... Not a problem in the summer but in the winter the room temp does dip into mid 60F.

I think overall my guys and the Hissy Princess Flora will be happier in the tubs vs. aquariums...

i bought a ceramic heater for my room. its set at 79 and it only operates if the temp goes under 79, i paid 28 bucks at target and it works very well. its rotates so it keeps the room evenly warm

In my reptile room I run a heater that keeps ambient at a minimum of 84 and I do not provide a hot spot. If ambient for you is not at least 75 you may have to run tape on the cool side also on its own thermostat. I cannot think of another way to do this. Maybe someone else can be of more help.

Heat tape on the cool side in a rack setup is going be the best option if you aren't able to run a heater I would think. That's what I'm planning to do because I'm not able to run a heater year round in my current place and it's the best option I've been able to come up with.


As for Boaphile, I would search reviews on him before ordering and look at reptile basics. They have flat packed racks that are easy to assemble. I've dealt with Boaphile twice and both times have been unpleasant and my girlfriend at the time ordered a rack from him only to have it delayed more than 2 months and arrived damaged. Just my 2 cents.
