    New Boa Owner
So a couple of months ago my other half and myself made the move to get a Boa. We adopted him from my boyfriends boss and when we got him it took time for all of us to get used to the other. Yesterday, however, he found a way to escape his home. We found him three hours later under the love seat I sit in when I'm handling him. It's not too far from his cage but it did give us a scare. We noticed shortly after we put him back in his home that he now has a large bump on the right side of his head and has a swollen gum. He's having a hard time closing his mouth and will spend hours just opening it and closing it. I'd love to know what I can do for my sweet guy!

x2. Sounds like either a broken jaw or an abscess/infection. Both require veterinary care unless you are adept and experienced with treating those problems. Good luck with your boa.
