Goldie Progression (Hypo Pastel Enchi Female)
Hello - this is my first day of BP parenting! Introducing Goldie, a female Hypo Pastel Enchi from Garrick at Royal Constrictor Designs.

Goldie arrived this morning, and has already been a curious lady. She also may be arboreal! (kidding I hope).

She has explored her tank and settled on a "hide" that I did not anticipate. She has climbed up the plants I have and has parked herself at the top of the cage on a vine for a nap! I have already seen her yawn, drink water, and explore and she has been very calm. I will chronicle her growth in this thread.

Thanks to everyone who provided input on setup and calibration, and to Garrick for outstanding customer service. Introducing the new family pet!:D

Thanks all! She is officially a tree BP. :O

She found a dark corner at the top of the enclosure and she is coiled on the plant and thermostat wire, just lounging, off the ground, for going on four hours.

Kids coming home soon so they will get to meet her through glass for the first time! Can't wait. (I took video of unboxing and handling when I unpacked her so they can get a taste of her up close without actually getting up close.) They know we need to give her time to acclimate.

And she just took a hopper mouse! She hadn't eaten in over a week and Garrick said to go for it - she took it pretty quickly! She is off to a roaring start! (She remains in her perch, and took the mouse from on high!)

Goldie is settling in very well! After her first feed, she has been sleeping all day in her warm side hide, and then at night, coming out and going bonkers exploring while we are asleep. She will be 48 hours out from her first feed tonight, so she should get her first tank inspection for poo, post feed substrate refresh, water change/bowl clean.

One of the cool things we did in our room was move one of our Nest Cams into the room, and park it in front of her cage so we can learn her behavior patterns without harassing her! Particularly fun at night with the night vision camera! Here is a clip of her at night, in a timelapse. This covers from roughly 11pm through 3am. She seems to really wake up as soon as the room is completely dark around 8:30pm, and then settle in around 3am.

I love the vine setup you have. I think my girl would like something like that, she's a bit of a climber too

Goldie is a crazy climber at night! She also found the space above the sliding doors between the cage opening (which is actually taped shut from the outside) and loves to disappear on the left side, transverse the ledge above the glass, and then magically reappear on the right side. She is also using the plants as her hide since the back corner is closed off, and she can really just curl up in the warm corner out of sight. I glued the plants into the top corners of the back with the aquarium silicone that came with the cage and it is holding up to her so far. Who knows if it will when she gets heavier though!
