    Commiseration for a lost BP
    Hi friends,

So Wednesday night I changed the water on Sol's tank. My son and I came home from school Thursday afternoon to realize he'd pushed out of his tank at some point.

We systematically took the house apart. It's a small place, but we went room by room looking through all the cabinets, all the furniture, drawers and closets. I checked under and behind the fridge, pulled out the washer and dryer, behind the water heater and the furnace. The next morning I flipped the couch over and pulled the cover off the bottom to see if he'd wedged his way under there.

Last night we dusted the tile floors with flour to see if he would track through anywhere. We're just trying anything.

I'm not really looking for advice, just hoping for some commiseration. I feel so bad for choosing a tank with such a crappy locking system, and for not being more vigilant. I'm trying not to be hard on myself but it's hard not to.

    Thanks for listening,

    Jonah

    Stay away from this tank!

That's sad :( keep looking/doing the flour thing. He can last a long time out there if he finds the right spot and they can get into places you wouldn't dream of.
Sounds like you're going the right way about looking for him, which is all you can do at this point. No point beating yourself up over it now, chalk it up as a lesson learned about tank security for when he shows himself again!

The flour trick is sound- I've never had a vanished snake but have used it on other escaped critters and got them back. Hope you find him soon, fingers crossed for you. :3
