Can an available admin advise how, if possible, to go about changing my site username?

You just need to send a message to an Admin to do it. I had mine changed early this year, because I didn't care for the name I originally made when I first joined back in 2006.

Be very sure you want to change it though as we only allow one name change per account. :)
