Reasonably priced thermostat

Any suggestions on a reasonably priced thermostat that I can use with flextape? Brands, and what sites offer the best prices? Never had to use one before so I'm not familiar with them

Best option imo is herpstat, but they're on the spendy side of the spectrum. Lowest price that will do a decent job is Hydrofarm "jumpstart", you can find them on amazon for like $25.

It'll depend entirely on what your willing to spend, and if your going for quality or price. I would also vote herpstat, yes they are near the top in terms of price, but they are also top of the line in terms of quality, at least from my experience.

I'd say herpstats are the most reasonably priced, because the $100 you spent on one will last forever.

The $25 jumpstart thermostats all break/become too risky to use within a few months~a year. So within a few years, you'll have to buy 4, and that was the cost of a herpstat anyway. Plus the herpstat is a dimming thermostat and much higher quality.

You can spend $25 on a thermostat that will fail in a year or two like those mentioned above (and when they fail they will fail wide open) or you can spend $115 and have a thermostat (with security features) that will last 10, 15 years or more.

I would go with Herpstat it's reliable, safe and you have the piece of mind, considering that your pet will leave 30+ years it is a very small investment.

Cheap thermostat are not worth it.
