    Punkin had a busy night
Woke up this morning to a wonderful sight. Punkin our rehome had her/his first complete, unassisted shed ever! We found one large shed ball and two very small ones so it wasn't a "perfect" shed but it was totally complete even the areas that had always been a problem for Punkin. As well the one dimpled looking eye is completely back to normal. Also a urate, some liquid urine and a huge poop so Punkin had a very busy night LOL.

She also took 2 mice last night and is continuing to show a faster, more aggressive feeding response each and every time we offer prey.

Punkin looks a bit better and feels 100% better to the touch. We are grinning like mad this morning!

Oh congrats!! It sounds like Punkin is well on his/her way to recovery, and as long as all the shed comes off, I consider it perfect. Good gracious, you weren't kidding about a busy night. I'm glad Punkin is doing so well with you and your family! :D

Thanks for your thoughts everyone. We are so happy to see Punkin coming along for us.

Mike has a theory about Punkin's feeding response. It seems she was fed all her life in a seperate and quite small feeding tub. We feed inside their big tubs and the first couple of feeds Punkin would sense the mouse and extend up like she was used to having a mouse dangled down on her. Took her a couple of feeds to realize the mouse was on the "ground" and then she started striking harder and coiling more around it. Mike wonders if maybe the feeding box was so small she never had the room to really hit a mouse or constrict it much.

We did notice that after her first mouse she'd extend her body upward to find another one (though she'd never been fed more than one a week). Now she's figured things out, she does just like Baby and searches the bottom of her tub until we offer the second course.

Just kind of a wierd behaviour we noticed at first.
