    Small incubator
Will this be able to covert to a one clutch size incubator? It says it's a heater and cooler , I'm wondering if it gets too hot or not enough , I can always add heat , it's harder to reduce it. Does anyone have any experience with these kind of apliences?

The most important piece of equipment when it comes to incubation is your thermostat, I would not trust a clutch with anything less than an herpstat and would not trust the internal thermostat of something that was not originally designed to incubate eggs. You can use a cheap small cooler and successfully incubate your clutch.

We have a DIY in our DIY forum.

I used those Styrofoam coolers (bought it from Walmart) when I had burm eggs, worked well and didn't cost much to set up.

I am interested in how you set this up. Can you explain it?

I got a couple of the biggest Styrofoam coolers I could find at Wal-Mart
I just put a strip of flexwatt on the bottom inside the cooler then used water bottles on top of that, then use a piece of light diffuser on top of the bottles. I also made a small slit in the side lip of the cooler so I can place the cords for the probe and thermostat, the lid closes all the way like that. Lastly I use tubs with vermiculite on bottom and a light diffuser on the substrate, place eggs in and close tub and you're good to go. :) I'll post a pic if you want in a little bit.

Sure, a pic would be nice. Thanks.

I've been contemplating whether to make my own little incubator or just buy a $100-150 one for my little upcoming breeding project. Was wondering how tough it would be to make my own

This is the cooler I use

Flexwatt and water bottles on bottom

The slit I made for the flexwatt cord and probe.

Light diffuser on top of the water bottles

Tub with a light diffuser, I put viticulture under this diffuser usually.

And that's it, it worked well for me and didn't cost much to make.
