Before it starts getting warm?
At what temperature (ambient) should I turn my uth off come summer? I'm planning on using air conditioning but if I give them a dedicated room the concenses seems to be around 86* is a good average point to stop the hot spot.

Are you saying even with AC the whole room will be 86? That seems hard to believe but we don't usually get the 110degree summer like some places. I still run my heat tape at 90 in the summer and if it gets hot then it just doesn't kick on so it's no big deal.

Summers here are around 90-100* so I'm wondering if I just use the ac to cut down to 86ish but still use heat tape for a 90-92* hotspot and I'm moving into the house in a couple months and it's more like a big closet you could fit a bed into haha not big enough for any of us or the kids.

At 86 you do not need the tape on, that said it cannot hurt to leave it on as long as they can get away from it. At 86 ambient, I doubt you would see them on it much. Ambient for my isolation rack right now is around 80. Even at that "low" temp I very rarely see them over the tape.

I don't turn the snakes' heat off in the summer - I figure the thermostats don't draw much power in and of themselves, and provide peace of mind if the weather cools unexpectedly.
