    Bad shed
We were recently given a young Ball Python who was, and is still, experiencing a bad shed. We have had him a little over a week and he still has patches on his head and Eyes. Is this something we can fix through husbandry, or should we take him to our local herp vet?

soak him in some lukewarm water, I generally shoot for around 85 degrees or so, for 15 minutes. afterwards let him crawl through a damp rough towel while you apply gentle pressure. you should see 99% of the stuck shed come off with that method.

The 'bad shed no problem' thread Eric posted is really useful, I managed to get the whole of my Smaug's shed off with it including eyecaps and tail tip- was his first shed with me after having him for only a week and the whole thing got stuck. Poor boy was so wrinkly and dry. Now he looks lovely again and seems so much more comfortable. :)
