Opinion on Tank Size and Insulating expanding foam
Hello!
I'm new here but I've been stalking the forum for a bit now. I don't have a BP yet but plan on getting one. I owned a couple of corns years ago and had become rusty in basic snake care. I'm glad I found the forum because I guess I partially assumed that BP care was going to be the same as it was for the corns I used to own. It is similar but not exact.
My plans are to own only 1 in a display style glass tank set up with 3 sides blacked out with PlastiDip. I wanted to do a custom 3D background similar to what I had once done for a Cichlid tank using styrofoam covered in quikcrete sealed in epoxy. Although, instead of carving out styrofoam I thought of using the insulating expanding foam called Great Stuff by Dow to aide in better heat retention in the glass tank. They have a version that is safe to use in ponds that house fish. I already have a 20L tank but after the addition of the foam on the back and 2 sides, I figured it would be too small for an adult BP. I'm interested in the final tank size I would need because of the level of detail investment I will be putting in. The set up is a large part of the joy for me. Depending on the age and size of the BP I decided to get, I will either be sectioning off part of the enclosure/ adding a lot of coverage with hides and foliage or having a smaller simple set up in the interim.
Does anyone have any experience with expanding foam in regards to use in reptile enclosures?
Would a 40G tank be better suited? Larger?

Thanks for the link. Always nice to have various diy links on the same type project. What I was asking was if anyone has any experience with it when it came to keeping snakes specifically. Not so much on how they did it but more on how they liked it, or how it's held up or reacted to cleanings and disinfecting.
