    Does this sound right?
My hygrometers are telling me that the humidity in my enclosures is 57% in one and 55% in the other, of course i expect it to be a little different even though the enclosures are right next to each other. My question is, do those levels sound right? I have my snakes on aspen, in a glass tank with a screen lid. I dont think this is right because the humidity outside is 59% right at this moment, and i suppose that inside a house the humidity would not be almost the same. I have accurite thermometer/hygrometers with probe

The Acurites are often off by 2~3%, and the difference is no biggie at all, even if they were accurate. I think you could just see it as "55~60%" in the enclosures, and that's all good. :)

That sounds right to me.... remember there will always be a slight difference in each unit/thermometer ect..
Those numbers are good and thats whats important [emoji1360]
Even with Heat a 3 degree window with thermometers are what to expect..

But im thinking if thats accurate even remotely, is it normal that the humidity outside the house is the same as inside? I used to cover half of the lid with a damp towel before i got the accurites, but now i totally took that off.

Not at all, now they are at 48 and 51. Its weird because the cool side and hot side temp that they show is perfect (i double check with my temp gun) im thinking i should just wait a little more until it settles and then play with the damp towel until i get it around 60%

Has this just recently happened? I noticed I had a problem keeping the humidity up in my BP tank because my furnace had made the upstairs of my house very dry. I got a humidified and it seemed to change things a lot.

I mean i barely got them last week, and i always had bad sheds before i started to use a damp towel on the lid. Now they are at 45 and 49

I noticed you said the humidity in your house is pretty high, So I don't think the furnace would be the case. What type of bedding are you keeping them on? do you have a moist hide?
