Every time I see her it reminds me of how much I need a desert ghost haha

Looking as awesome as ever! I'm guessing this is just after she shed?

Yes, she shed 3 days ago and ate 2 days ago. She is on rat weanlings now, once per week :)
She is really growing quickly and she would eat more if I let her, she is always hungry it seems like. But I don't want to overfeed her, even if she would like that, LOL.

She is also really settling down with time, patience and age/size.

She was the most nervous and defensive Ball Python hatchling I've had. Now she is calm, curious and settles right down. She needed very short handling sessions, always ending them before she would get "frantic" in her efforts to get away. At first it would be about 5 minutes, then within a couple of weeks she could take 10 minutes. Now she doesn't get frantic or defensive/nervous at all, but I still keep handling at the most around 15 minutes or so.
At this point, though, she could handle more if I wanted her to. Its like a switch got flipped with her, and she suddenly doesn't worry anymore.

Its funny how they are all so different. There really is no set "schedule" in getting a snake comfortable with handling. In my experience it varies with every snake and the best thing to do is to watch their body language and to make sure that they don't ever get overwhelmed and that each session ends on a good note. If that means 5 minutes, then so be it. If it means longer sessions (like with my Blood python who gets more relaxed the longer we sit down) then so be it.

What doesn't work, imho, is to force them to deal with handling by taking them out all the time and for very long periods. It should always be a positive experience for the snake. Much better they learn to trust and gain confidence over time, rather then to have one out that is either frozen in fear or trying to get away in a panic.

    kxr, OMG, it really does...LOL

Perhaps it needs a fresh set of eyes to notice those things? We see our snakes every day and don't pay attention to those little details ;)
