Substrate in snakes mouth
I have a ball python. Who is shedding at this time. I noticed today that he has Substrate in the front of his mouth. I don't know if this is from him scraping, trying to remove the old skin. Will he be ok ? Or, should I try to rinse it from his mouth ??
Re: Substrate in snakes mouth
Sounds like hes just trying to get his shead off. They will rub their heads on just about anything. Dont worry. Unless he is clearly causing damage to himself (rubbing his nose raw) then he should be fine. Maybe give the humidity a boost. :)
Re: Substrate in snakes mouth
Thank you, I was very worried !!!. I only got him a short while ago. The people that owned him, didn't want him anymore. So I took him. I don't really know too much about snakes. Have never owned one before. So I have no prior experience. Such amazing animals though ! I look forward to having him for a very long time.

Re: Substrate in snakes mouth
Welcome !!!!
I'd suggest upping the daily water spraying just for the next few critical days ...and if possible put some branches in there so he can rub against it and it help the shed to come off as they climb over and through them ..

Oh welcome!! I'd do a serious read on this then. There are wrong ways to take care of a ball python, so be sure to research and doublecheck if you've got everything right.
