    Good thermostat?
I hate the probe on thrmostat that I have. It's a thick cube so makes a huge space where the heat mat is off the glass. Willow's Matt is small because she's in a 20g.
Is this a good option? https://www.amazon.ca/Zilla-11939-Te...ile+thermostat

If you are looking for a good quality cheaper priced thermostat you could go with a HydroFarm Thermostat. You can find them on Amazon for about $35.00. They have a good track record for a cheap thermostat.

I think Jumpstart is another one in that price range and similar.

I saw Jumpstart but didn't know. So Jumpstart or hydrofarm? They show as both Jumpstart.

They're both the same. :gj: As in the same bones just marketed for different purposes...

Way back in the days (before BP) I used to own some of those and I say some because they are very prone to failure, you can easily run through one a year, the temps are not very stable (they allow for way too much fluctuation), most importantly when it comes to failure they fail wide open.

The very minimum t me is the intro http://www.spyderrobotics.com/index....=index&cPath=1 , yes it might be double the price but I can guarantee that you will never get 10 years out of the t-stat you posted, with Herpstat you will (I have some that have been running for 11 years now)

I just got a VE-200 and I love it. Temps are so stable. I do have a couple of the Hydrofarms and they do their job, but I plan on upgrading as soon as I can. If for nothing else but piece of mind. You hear horror stories about them failing and I don't want that to happen to me.

Which one did you mean? There's a ton listed, lol. Jump start is no good?

I had 3 jumpstart/hydrofarm thermostats to start out with, and they all became too inaccurate to use within a year.

If you're not planning on selling your BP within 4 years (lol), I definitely think it's worthwhile to invest in a herpstat! It's also a dimming thermostat and very accurate with maintaining exact temps.

    The herpstat 1 basic works!
