feeding male ball python on off days

Okay, so, say I'm doing 3 days on and 3 days off for my male and he eats on his last off day...Would it be okay to put him in with the female the following day after he ate or should I give him an extra day to digest his food? Thanks.

I'd feed, then give three days off, then three days on, then repeat.
