A common BCI would be a good choice. They come in many different morphs and are fairly docile when cared for properly. Husbandry isn't too demanding. They will need larger caging when adults though. I'd do some research and check out the different sizes and care requirements. They are really fun snakes.

I have a couple of boas (Hog Island and a Brazilian Rainbow) that are great snakes. They eat great (never refuse a meal, unlike the ball), shed perfectly and are beautiful. They are a strong snake and fun to work with. I also have a young Jungle Carpet and she is a super snake. She is more of a display snake and is more apt to move and check out what's going on around her enclosure. Also a great eater and no problems with shedding, etc. I find it a lot of fun to watch and measure their growth as they mature and move up to bigger rats. They change quite rapidly when they move up to the bigger rats. All of my snakes eat frozen thawed with no issues although my rainbow gets a little crazy and sometimes misses!

I love BP and boas specially the boas eyes my girlfriend doesn't want me to get a big snake so I'm thinking more towards a dwarf boa but if I get a normal from a baby by time it's grown she will have fallen for it lol that's my plan anyway. She hated any snake untill I got my BP now she is intregued by it at first she wouldn't go near him but now she will happily feel and stroke him she hasn't got the bottle to hold him yet but she will do one day as she's gone from not wanting to be in same room as it to been able to touch him and even watch him feed she's realised what a great animal they really are she was the typical snake hater before what thought they are slimey and aggressive animals lol
