    Looking for so help....
Hey guys, I'm thinking of building my own custom Melamine snake cage and was wondering if anyone had a few links to where I might find some build plans so that I can have a few different ideas on going about it.

    Thanks

    here ya go http://showcase.netins.net/web/reptiles/cage.html

i am thinking about building this cage but i am wondering how my exo terra heat pads will work with such a thick bottom fo rthe heat to go through. other than that i love the idea.

Thanks! I like it alot actually, I'd probably go for 2 feet tall instead of the 1 they are using here because my BP likes to climb but other then that it looks great. I really can't see there being a problem with using an UTH pad because the wood would still heat up in that area where the pad is

Actually I don't think heating melamine through the bottom will work. I had looked into that and Matt recommended putting the UTH inside but covering it with a sheet of plexiglass (I think). Then sealing the plexi with silicone. The melamine is very thick and it's not safe to heat under it

i guess u could always cut holes in the bottom and place plexi glass in there. hthat way u could still have an air space. i would also go with a deeper cage, like 2 ' or at least 18".
