    Help question urgent response please
So I have been pairing my males and females. All owned for over 2 years roughly. My mystic male has been pairing with a few of my females and he continues to eat during the whole process which is good. Well today Sunday I paired him with one of my females and he locked right up. Was still locked about 4 hours ago. I go by the snake room and hear all kinds of noises and he is going nuts in the cage throwing himself around. No they were not locked any more. I separated them He didn't try to bite but looked pretty mad. And continued to trash his tub but it seems to be slowing down. I have never witnessed this. What is going on. Should I be concerned about something?

First thing I would do is re-sex the female while trashing and combating with a female can happen it is very rare and from the description this is likely what happened.

Your female could be a male. Sounds like male combat.

This is how I found out that my spider was incorrectly sexed when purchased. What a fun surprise....

    Thanks for the replies.
100 percent she is female. She was probed and is actually building follicles that are the bigger than superballs right now. I'm not sure what was going on. I wish I could check her him right now but he in in my daughters room and she is sleeping. The first thing I thought of was he was trying to fight her. As I watched him after the post he seemed to be trying to battle his way out of the tub. He did calm down last night but still concerned. Should I stop putting him with females for a while?

Yes I would give him a two week break at least. When was the last time he was paired? How much of a break did you give him?

He was being paired once a week
He was being paired once a week but the past month I started giving him 12 days off, so it's been almost two weeks. He was locked with her for over 24 hours before his episode. This morning he was not crazy but did hiss for the first time He spilled his water so it had to be cleaned. But he went right back and relaxed after the cleaning. He has been paired with the female before. Could it be that he smelled the male/female pair in the tub below him?

He may know but I have multiple breeding's going on in my rack frequently and never had a problem. I think of it as snake porn. If anything, it may get everyone else going. I have never had an issue like you are experiencing.

    Weird
It's weird because another me ever started a thread this morning with similar issues and he is maybe 10 miles from me. We have had a very windy evening and some storms last night. I know winds we reported with gusts over 50 mph. Just wondering if that had anything to do with it?
