Ball Python Sheds

I'm just curious where everyone's ball python seems to shed mine has shed twice now and both times was in one of his hides he's got some drift wood and a half trunk hide and a vine to rub against to help any shed but both times have been in his hide so I'm curious to where everyone's BP like to shed in there set ups

Yellow just shed the other day and was in his hot hide. he was in there for almost the entirety of his shed.

My female always sheds in her hide and it ends up wrapped in a ball with a big turd in the middle. She always poops when she sheds. The male just sheds wherever.

Yeh both times have been in his hot hide the first one was wrapped around his mid body the second was in a ball without the poo lol he was in there constantly from what I seen during his shed but I do add some damp moss in both hides during his shed so probably prefers it I was just under the impression they liked to rub against slightly rough objects to help them out obviously not always the case

I'm happy with this shed his first one was in two pieces but like I say was wrapped around him so he might of torn it the second one was a complete shed from head to toe or tail should I say lol

Also any ideas on best way to keep snake sheds I want to keep a some for the visual grow comparison and maybe get them framed eventually to put above his set up on the wall

My adult male sheds in one nice piece, he doesn't really have a preference, he just starts it and finishes up wherever. Most commonly he's in the cool hide and just snakes around inside and leaves a nice perfect shed (with another surprise). As for the new female I got, she's yet to shed with me yet. :rolleyes:

I'd imagine the best way to keep snake sheds is to put them into some airtight ziplock bag or something.

Yeh I read up on it last night some say the airtight bag and others say cut down the belly spread it out on some wood or plastic then just pin it with thumb nails and let it dry out so gonna try both ways

My BP has mostly shed in his hide, shed all balled up, with a big ol' poop right beside it. He stayed in that hide for several days after I noticed he was in blue, then switched to his other hide after he shed/pooped. So now it's a safe bet that he has shed if he has switched hides. My King typically leaves a full, one-piece shed wrapped around his enclosure. One of my two juvenile corns shed a few days ago, and left a full, one-piece shed around her enclosure. Still waiting on the other juvenile corn to have his first shed with me.
I keep each of my snake's first sheds in a labeled deli cup or Tupperware. So far each of my snakes have had perfect sheds, hoping the male corn can follow suit...

Mine shed like yours :)

Corns / Kings in one nice strip and Royals in one horrible lump :)

I collected all the shed skins for years and kept them in a large swingbin bag - gave up when I couldn't fit anymore in there :)
