    Hey everyone, this is my first posting.on here so here goes,
    I recently bought a full grown male ball python at a expo and when I brought him home I've noticed on his spinal area he had hardened scales in a small area ive had him for a week now and they seem.to be flaking off have any idea about what it is??? Ps he eats well alive and f,t and have a good cage set up and he doesn't seem.in distress when I pick him up

    That looks like scale rot to me. Google it and check the images since it's always hard to tell from a photo.

    It hasnt spread or gotten worse since ive had.him ivr been watching everyday and it seems to be flaking.off noe the white part underneath seens clean if I touch it it doesnt seem to affect him at all and he doesnt jerk or huff if I do touch it

    How's the humidity in your tank? Sometimes excess moisture can cause scale rot.

    I had the humidity at 60% but droped it to 50

    I think fifty would be better. Does the snake spend time in a wet area or in his/her water bowl?
