DIY Rock Background Tutorial?

Hello, I began building a background out of grout and styrofoam, but it quickly became a trainwreck.

Does anyone know of a useful tutorial out there? Thanks!

I'm building my first one now. Actually applied my 2nd layer of mortar/foam coat this afternoon. What kind of problems did you run into and what kind of questions do you have. I'm not crazy experienced but I've watched a crapload of videos and have at least experienced my share of issues.
