Ball python not eating.

My ball pythin charlie hasn't ate a rat for about 2 and a half months now. He isn't showing any signs of health issues or behaviour issues but I just can't get him to eat.
His Temps a d humidity are fine. I tried to feed him earlier and he didn't strike at it but started to eat it backwards and I took the rat and turned it round so he could eat it the normal way and now he isn't eatting the rat at all.
Is this normal spring the winter months?

You shouldnt mess with the rat if the snake is eating it. There's nothing wrong with eating it from the other end. I wouldn't even bother trying to feed again until tomorrow. They do go off feed but first things first. How old is your snake and what is your setup like? What is the temp and humidity?

I've recently transitioned my big boy (the one around my neck in my avatar) to large mice. He struck the first one right on the side. Needless to say he had to figure that out for a bit. He was struggling to pull it in, and then he let go. I watched as he surveyed the situation, and he went at it again from the head. He finished successfully. I've been helping him by holding the mouse higher, so the head is the first point that he strikes.

Well he was going to eat.. To bad you touched it.. Wait a week now because he will be timid and stressed over his food being screwed around with and try again. Snakes know what there doing, so dont worry about things like that.

Next time let him eat it backwards. Not a big deal. Leave him completely alone for a full week before offering another meal.
