Is it possible to produce spider hatchlings without spider parents?

Short answer is yes... sort of.

I'm not sure how many people have seen this or thought about this before but I just thought I'd share this. I've always thought the woma mutation was basically spider without the white sides. Looking at Eric's post (https://ball-pythons.net/forums/show...r-Yellow-Belly) got me wondering what would happen if you combined the white sides of a sugar/calico with the spider pattern of a woma. Sure enough you get an animal that is phenotypically very similar to a spider.

Note: To anyone curious womas wobble just like spiders so this isn't a way to get a spider without any wobble. It's just something I found pretty interesting!

I have noticed. There are many ways to skin a cat. Some of the different combinations end up looking remarkably similar. At some point we may have something that looks exactly like a spider but genetically is not. For whatever reason is seems that many of the most effective pattern reduction genes are linked (I am using this word very loosely here) to the wobble. Until we find a way around that there is only so close we are going to get though.

I'd need to see a couple of more of them before I'd stand on that certainty. All of my calico combos have dramatically changed the pattern and color of the combo that in MHO doesn't appear to have Calico in it.

The above animal definitely seems to be a slightly different colour and have higher white sides then a normal spider.

It looks like a pretty typical spider to me. Look at all the other Calico combos. It dose more that just add white to the sides. It messes with the pattern and the color. I'm going to have to say that the pic is of a spider that was assumed to be a Calico Woma again just my two cents.

I'd be interested in seeing more example of this combo. I suppose it is possible it could be the wrong morph. I've definitely noticed some questionable stuff on wob before

Edit: Actually, if you do a quick google search there are a few examples and they all look similar

Kinda like how white diamonds are actually a little marshmallow-yellow as adults, yet the photo saturations are edited on WOBP to make them look extremely white.

I don't know about the woma calico in the thread, but WOBP is questionable sometimes. Pretty much anyone can upload any nice photo of a snake and label it a morph, and it'll get posted.

Sadly I can't get them to post my RAGHI.(super red axanthic ghi) I produced last season they keep telling me my photos are too small. As for the OP. Why cut out spider with woma as woma have wobble issues also so what difference is there
