Ack! My crestie is gone! Tips?
Ok some how my crestie got out of his cage last night, and we figured out thtere was a small slit in the screen that we hadn't noticed.

He was on the kitchen counter.. he could be anywhere.

I need some tips to find my baby, I can't stand knowing he is out there without food and water and such (lucky for him, we have had quite a few cricket escapes so there should be a few crickets to munch on, lol)!

What should I do?~?~ My house has a cathedral ceiling, I can only imagine how high up he could be?!?

most likely he will go up. check anywhere high up that is warmer than the rest of the house. on top of the refridgerator, on or under the light on the stove, on top of cabinets, on or in any lights. wait until it is nighttime for better chances of catching him out and about. you could leave some babyfood in his favorite flavor in a dish on the fridge and see if that attracts him. he has probably been sleeping all day today and will wake up soon and start to explore. keep the lights dim and see if you can spot him galavanting about. good luck!

    Ok thanks!

I'm just sick to my stomach, he was my moms favorite!

I have a question, though. Above my kitchen, is my bedroom; a loft. It does not have solid walls, its sort of like half a wall, the top of it is open. It is definately like 5 or 6 degrees warmer up here. Do you think he possibly could have climbed the wall and came in my bed room? Or is it more likely he is still somewhere high in the kitchen?

I plan on checking the whole house when it gets dark with a flashlight.

since it is open he definitely could have gotten into your room. they are climbers and some will climb as high as they can get. sounds like you are going to have quite a search on your hands.

Yes I think so too, lol.

Right now I am in ym room (on the comp lol) looking around for any noises or movements, and my mom is doing the same downstairs in the 2 rooms he is most likely in. at about 11 I am going to get aflash light and search, thats the time he normally started getting REALLY active.

    Thanks for the help!

I found him! He was in the room next to the room the cage was in, on top of a camp supply tub!

For now he's in a big cricket keeper, tomorrow he shall have a new cage!
