What's In The Bush?

I looked out my window the other day and saw a weird glob in my lilac bush. Of course, I had to investigate. Then I see this little guy high up wadded near the top!

Always nice to have wild snakes in the yard to keep the mice and rat population in control.

I believe this a brown snake, aka DeKay's snake. Storeia Dekayi.

As far as I know it's just a garter snake. Don't they eat worms and bugs and stuff anyway? At least this one was in the front yard, as if it was in the back and attempted to slither into the dog's yard, it would have wound up in several pieces.
