    1 week wait
I heard somewhere that you're supposed to wait a week with your snake in it's new enclosure before handling.. Is this true? :snake: sAs a first time snake owner I have no opinion on this..

Yes ideally you should wait at least a week before handling. Preferably after it has taken a meal or two. I know it's hard to wait but it's best for the snake. Young ball pythons get stressed out easily so they need time to adjust to their new environment.

Trust me, I know waiting isn't fun. I just got my first BP on the 21st of this month. Think of it this way: a few weeks isn't really a big deal since your snake will live 15-20 years. That's a lot of time for handling :)

It sure is a good idea. It's hard but it's whats best for the snake.

I prefer to leave new snakes or any new reptile for that matter alone for the first week that I get them. The only time I'll get close to them is to change their water, remove waste and if they've been on a regular eating schedule, I'll offer them food. Turns out pretty well.
