summer time.
do any of you turn off your hot side heating during the summer months? rather it be heat tape/heat pad? i live in the desert and our summers get pretty hot so just asking, before that time comes.

Hot spots are used for digestion and boosting their immune system as well as overall health.. Unless you let your house get to 91 24/7 then you cant turn off heating. As soon as the basics arent followed you can bet on Stress & RI's.

Re: summer time.
Technically if your house was 90-92* then wouldn't you have to cool off the enclosure for a lower ambient temp? Which you would still need to maintain that hotspot. I'm sure a 91* ambient will just stress your snake out anyways by then he can't cool off

Air conditioner! lol I'd say whatever room your snakes are in set the ac to 80 in that room just keep your uth set to 90-92 and you'll be alright

I am also new but trust I've seen these same questions and have thought about the same thing as you. I'm just relaying what I have learned from others in previous posts. Just trying to help everyone I can out :)
One of the perks of hanging around this site the last 4-6 months before making an account and getting my bps almost a month ago lol I usually read every single thread in gen bp and feeder section involving rats and mice that way I'm prepared
